I have also supplied the command with sudo and supplied the guest username and password Applications/VMware\ Fusion.app/Contents/Library/vmrun -T fusion typeKeystrokesInGuest /Users/user/Virtual\ Machines.localized/10.15.4-prod.vmwarevm/10.15.4-prod.vmx helloĮrror: Insufficient permissions in the host operating system I am trying to orchestrate some common automations and wanted to experiment with the vmrun typeKeystrokeInGuest command but no matter what I try I always get a host permissions error I have verified VMware Fusion has been added to accessibility, full disk access, and automation in the host privacy panel. Anybody have any insights on how this System Interrupts thing could be related (seems like it would be hardware related)?īoth host and guest are running macOS 10.15.4 I'm running out of ideas as this is making it thoroughly painful to use the Windows VM, and since my work requires it I'm getting to the point where I'm considering trying a different product because this isn't cutting it. I suspected maybe the CPU was running too hot, but I checked and it appears that while the CPU gets much hotter when using the camera, there are times when things are slow and all the cores are around 62-63 celsius, which doesn't seem too bad. Often, if I go look in my Windows Task Manager, "System Interrupt" is taking 100% of CPU, which is the main reason I'm posting a separate thread because I haven't seen this particular factor posted. It's not as bad without calls, but I can get a lot of random slow-downs. If I turn my camera on, then the VM tends to freeze. This has been especially noticeable with the lockdown and having a lot of Zoom calls. Things are OK at times, and then depending on what I'm doing the VM can become practically unusable. I have a 2016 Macbook Pro with 16GB of RAM, 2.6Ghz QuadCore i7 running Mac OS Catalina and a Windows 10 VM. I've had some performance issues on and off and it seems to have gotten gradually worse, and at this stage it's becoming unberable. A Document, as you have created here, is more suitable for when you have information that you >would like to share with others.) For the future, choose to create a Discussion in the forums for topics like this. >I think Windows 3.1 will only be able to use 16-color mode in a VM, but I am not entirely certain. With VMware Tools installed, it should be possible to choose 256 >Color or True Color (32-bit) color depths. Without VMware Tools, only 16-color mode will be available. >For Windows 95 and 98, after you install VMware Tools in the Windows guest OS, choose Start> Control Panel, then choose Displays, choose the Settings tab, and choose >under Color palette the color depth you would like to use. If, by any chance, you have some time to spare and help me out once again, I'd be thrilled. (but it really doesn't matter after all those trial and errors.) If I had sound, it would be so much greater. Oh, by the way, I'm using a MacBook (if that means anything). My copy of Windows 98 FE (FE stands for 1st Edition, right?) needed DirextX drivers, so I installed it too. I have tried downloading dozens of sound drivers (Sound Blaster, generic driver, MS drivers and realtek drivers)īut it doesn't seem to work. I now have a better idea of Discussion and Document. I successfully installed VMware Tools and was glad to find out I could indeed choose 256 and 32-bit color.Īlso, I was able to run my desired application. Greetings! First, I can't thank you enough.
